With not quite 15% of the
votes, "Diff'rent Strokes" seems to have one of those theme songs that isn't
quite as memorable as the others in this poll. That is, until you
listen to it again. Then a little light bulb turns on in your head, and
you think to yourself, "Oh, yeah...now I remember this one!"
Written by Alan Thicke (who you may remember as Jason Seaver on "Growing
Pains"), this song pretty much sums up the plot of the show: Two boys with
"nothing but their jeans" are adopted by a "man of means", and although they
may have had different lives, they all live together as a happy family.

It's a lilting little
tune with a touch of 70s funkiness, and it also received just slightly less
than 17% of the votes in this poll. The "Three's Company" theme is one
of those easy-to-sing-along-to, feel-good types of songs that was very
characteristic of its time. The lyrics give only a hint about the plot
of the series, with lines like, "Come and knock on our door, We've been
waiting for you, Where the kisses are hers and hers and his, Three's company
too." Have a listen

In all
honesty, Saved by the Bell was one of the most unrealistic, inconsistent
shows about high school ever to be televised. But even so, nearly all
of us who grew up in the 90s watched it faithfully on Saturday mornings.
The theme song was quite catchy, too, with lyrics nearly all kids could
relate to: being late for school, trying to get out of a test you didn't
study for, forgetting to do your homework. With that in mind, it's
easy to see how it got over 30% of the votes. And let's face it--we
all secretly wished our school could be as cool as Bayside!

Even Boss Hogg can't deny that
the winner of this poll is one of the most famous and memorable theme songs
in history. Performed by country legend Waylon Jennings (who also
narrated each episode), the Dukes of Hazzard theme song tells you the story
of the Dukes, who were "just'a good ol' boys, never meanin' no harm."
The country ballad fit perfectly with the rural southern setting of the
show, as well as providing some amusing contrast to the car chases and
antics featured in every episode.
