It's amazing that this song placed last in our
poll, but then it was up against some pretty tough competition.
But even though it only received a little more than 17% of the votes, this
song still remains a television classic. It was all instrumental, but
let's face it--it didn't need lyrics! The pure 70s funk sound with the
blazing harmonica made this a song we surely will never forget. You
may be interested to know that the song's actual title is "The Streetbeater"
and was composed by famous musician Quincy Jones.

The "Married with Children" theme song is the
only one in our poll that was actually a famous song long before the show
first aired. Frank Sinatra first performed "Love and Marriage" in the
1950s, and it remains a popular tune at wedding receptions today. The
fact that this song was chosen as the "Married with Children" theme seems
almost ironic-- the lyrics tell all about the joys of being married, while
the show focuses on a rather dysfunctional family. It's definitely a
hilarious combination that certainly worked!

Start listening to the Jeffersons theme song,
and there's no doubt you'll be feeling the urge to clap your hands and get
up to dance! Premiering in 1975, "The Jeffersons" was a spin-off of the
popular show "All in the Family". It told the story of George and
Louise 'Wheezie' Jefferson, whose dry-cleaning business became so successful
that they "moved on up to a deluxe apartment" in New York. The
jubilant, soulful theme song celebrated this fact--George and Wheezie
"finally got a piece of the pie!"

Many of us have a place we like to go to
unwind, forget about the stresses of the day, and just hang out with
friends. That's what makes our first-place theme song so easy to
relate to (and could contribute to the reason it won by a landslide!)
When "Cheers" first debuted in 1982, it almost didn't make it to the second
season due to poor ratings. But as viewers watched, they began to relate to
Sam, Norm, Cliff, Carla, and company, resulting in a successful 10+ year run!
The theme song, titled "Where Everybody Knows Your Name", is more than
appropriate for the show's plot: "You wanna be where you can see,
our troubles are all the same, You
wanna be where everybody knows
Your name. "Watch the intro
