Brief description of myself. 5'11 230 pounds. I bought the 2XL because that was all that was left. It looked really big at first, however due to the drawstring and the belt everything seemed to work perfect. I wore this during Halloween and it was a hit. This Gi is awesome. After deciding to go as Johnny for Halloween, I started searching the internet for costumes. I was hesitant to get the 2XL from 80sTees -- since I'm probably a Large (from the sizing video -- as I'm 6'0", 195lbs). As a result, I ordered a "Standard" sized Cobra Kai replica Gi from another online retailer -- only to find it was made of cheap costume material and actually cost more than this Johnny replica Gi. Not sure what to do, I decided to order the 2XL (since the L and XL were both sold out) and, if necessary, take it in either myself or take it to a tailor. I just got it in the mail today and it's the real deal. Since the pants and vest are essentially drawstring/adjustable I think I'll be able to wear it as is. Is it too big for me? Yes, without a doubt. My wife and I probably could both fit in the pants at the same time. But it's a much better alternative than the competition -- especially when it's cheaper by about [$]. If I tighten the pants to my 34 waist they're baggy...but since the vest covers them, I'm the only person that truly knows how big the costume is. This was well worth the money and I'm sure I'll wear this costume/gi many times -- despite the large size.

First just let me say that this costume is fantastic. Everything is perfect and this has put an end to me trying to make my own! The only complaint I have is that the pants seem rather huge. I bought the xl and the top fits perfect just not the bottom. I am going to buy some new pants and have the patches put on them. I am 6'2" and weigh 175lbs. After watching the fitting video and viewing the measurements on the site, I was sure I would look ridiculous and frumpy, but a frumpy Johnny Lawrence is better than no Johnny at all, right?!

I ordered a size large, and it fits much better than I had anticipated. The pant waist cinches up to my 32" waste without a problem, and the top, while a bit wider than I would like, is comfortable and looks pretty good.

I feel like I might last an entire round against Chuck Norris in this bad-boy.

I got this for my brother for his 30th birthday and he absolutely loved it! As most everyone else has described, costumes don't get much more accurate or high quality than this. This is an actual karate gi, made of quality, durable, heavyweight material. This costume will most likely outlive the number of years I will feel comfortable wearing a costume out in public. Even then, I might just wear this thing around the house...or whenever I decide to pop my copy of Karate Kid in the DVD player.

Be forewarned, if you choose to wear this costume out and there will be a significant number of males in the 18-35 demographic wherever you go, then you will hear "Sweep the leg!" or "Put him in a bodybag, Johnny!" no less than 100 times. OK seriously, this costume rocks! When I ordered it, I thought it would be fun maybe a little bit cheesey, etc. When the box arrived I couldn't understand why it was so heavy. This gui is LEGIT. MC Hammer would be proud of this sucker. It's the real deal - an actual gui - no cheap imitation junk. The only difference is this gui is totally tricked out into one of the best movie villian costumes of all time! You actually feel like a bad ace in this thing. I mean, I'm not like a huge guy or anything (from the waist up I mean of course) but even I felt like I could pretty much kick everyone's ace! Get a few of your best bros together all suited up in these Cobra Kai outfits and if you run into any other Danielsan wannabe sucks, they will start to feel genuinely uncomfortable around you guys - as was the case with all 3 of the lame Daniel Laruso costumed idiots we saw on Halloween. In fact, each of their hot chick dates bailed them and partied with us for the rest of the night. The only other cosutme from this movie that could possibly top this one would be a Pat Morita handyman get-up. But until 80sTees comes out with that one, this costume is hands down the sweetest rig ever. Easily the best dough I ever spent on a costume. I will definitely wear this thing many more times during the course of my life... Halloween, costume parties, birthday parties, to the All-Vally Karate Championship, Easter, New Year's, my wedding, etc. Buy it - immediately! You will not regret it.

When you receive this costume, it heavy and stiff, I recommend washing it first with a touch of fabric softer, let it air dry and run it in the drier for about 20 minutes to increase the flexibility of this costume. It made it more comfortable and flexible in walking about and enjoying the party.

Watch the video for size. I did and it fit very well. Paints are a little long but workable. only thing is no pockets. I wore a pair of black workout shorts over the paints. This way I had a place to put my keys and phone. The shorts blended in with the gi. Quality is very good.

I rated that is was and wasn't easy to put on, this was mainly because of how the pants fit, however they worked out. Also it is heavier material which is good and sturdy, but breaths alright being it's a gi. Could use a narrower waist on the paints in the Medium size I ordered, had to sinch it quite a bit to fit my waist (32"), the length was fine. The outfit was very good quality.

I was full of trepidation when I ordered this product. I'm 6'7" 310 lbs with an athletic build and was worried that the XXL pants would be too tight. They fit perfectly, as well as the top! I got this GI for Halloween and have been wanting to be Johnny for a few years now. The only way I could have been him, is if I made the costume myself, but I found it difficult to find a GI with yellow trim therefore never was. When I stumbled upon this ad, I was a bit hesitant on the quality of the outfit. However, after reading some reviews I was sure that I was getting the real deal.

I received the gi a few days ago and I am completely satisfied. Like another reviewer stated, it would be helpful if there were instructions on how to properly tie the pants. Also, it would have been nice to have a headband included with the gear to match Johnny's scene.

Besides these cons, I am looking forward to wearing it for this upcoming Halloween and hopefully many more to come!

This is a GREAT little item and an awesome piece of 80s movie memorabilia. A must have for Cobra Kai fans. The ONLY thing that could have made this better is if it were manufactured by Century, the martial arts supply company that made the originals.
