The costume was a hit and easy to move around in, which is important to me. The only complaint is that the only pocket was located under the kneecap, which when you throw in a phone, keys and a wallet can get cumbersome. I would tailor something into the inside under the chest for storage.

Costume looks great and takes good pictures. I am 6' 170lbs and the XL fit nicely. A little snug in the butt but after a few beers you don't notice. I wish it had pockets up higher in the chest or waist area. There are only 2 in the thigh area and things would fall out when I sat down. There are 2 velcro pockets on the sleeves that you could use but they are very small. The costume was a hit.

Overall good costume. Everyone loved it at the party I went to. Like others said the patches are iron on stickers. The material used in the suit is very thin so be prepared when wearing in the cold. The suit would have been better if the pockets near the chest were usable. I had to throw my keys and phone in the leg pockets causing them to bang against my leg when I walked.

For the most part the costume was great- looked good, fun to wear, plenty of compliments. Only a couple negatives, and I wouldn't mention these if it was a $25 costume, but for [$] I expected a little more:1- lack of pockets: The only "real" pockets are at the knee, all others are fake pockets. My cellphone was constantly bumping my knee and it felt like it was going to fall out. Recommend wearing shorts underneath.2- I'm a bit over 5'10 and got the L/XL. The torso was a little short for me, especially if you sit or stretch.3- The patches are cheap. They are just iron-on and several of mine started falling off after I put it in the drier. I had to stitch them back on.

This worked out great for halloween. I'm 5'7, 150 pounds, and fit me fine. The costume came with all the official top patches already on it, so there was no work to be done.

This costume was good, but hugged the package and butt a bit. I am 5'10" with wide sholders and I got the XL. If you are tall, this may not work for you, unless you want all of your business showing.

We bought this costume for my husband to wear at our Halloween party. It looked amazing. We had watched a video to judge just what size to get him. Wore it for Halloween party. Glad that I read earlier reviews about it being tight in the crotch and ordered a large even though sizing guidelines recommended the medium for me. I'm 5'9", 190 lbs, and wear 36W30L jeans and it was still tight down there. Aside from that, it was great! Fit well everywhere else. Added the aviator sunglasses, name tag "Maverick" I made on PC, and leather hunting boots ... costume looked very good. Don't worry about iron-on patches, they actually look quite good for a relatively inexpensive costume.

Pros: Looks like the suit worn from Top Gun. Patches resemble those from the movie. Soft Material. Looks good once its on.
Cons: The patches are pressed on not sewn on so they have a better chance of falling off(one of mine did). Only 1 pocket opens and the material is rather thin. Biggest problem is the sizing. I am 5ft 11in, 180lbs and I got a L/XL. The suit is difficult to get on and is fine once its on. Once on the crotch ruins it for me cause I can't lift my arms higher then my neck. Sitting down and squating are ok. The feet, wrists, and waist all are adjustable so I would get a XL Tall if your 5ft 11in or taller. You can always make it smaller if you need to but you cant stretch it.

Cheap, not worth the money, ill-fitting, nothing like expected. We've bought a kids flight suit costume in the past that was much better made.

I studied some pictures of this costume myself and found there is an American flag on the left shoulder in the movies. This costume has a United States Navy seal on the left shoulder. Looks great otherwise, just wish it was more studied/researched.

For the price though it isn't bad. The actual Mil-spec is a lot more pricey however there is a website that carries it with all of the appropriate patches, or to save some money they have a similar one to this knock-off but is still more expensive. If you want to be authentic, spend the extra money!!

The costume is very accurate but, as others noted, the patches are screen printed or iron-on, NOT actual patches.

As for the fit: I'm 6'3" so I naturally got the XL tall, and although the arms and legs are long enough the torso is too short leaving very little room in the inseam. This makes it painful to lift my arms above my shoulders, and even sit down. I just wouldn't recommend it if you are taller.

The costume is very light and easily recognizable because it is so accurate. The only thing I had to add was "Maverick" along one of the flaps to personalize it a bit. Also going releaving oneself is not the most pleasant experience as the zipper does not go down nearly far enough for a comfortable/easy access bathroom break. Other than that the costume worked out great, and for once I'll be keeping a Halloween costume in hopes of using it again in the future.

This looks amazing but its not comfortable. I guess its ok since you don't wear it everyday. I'm 5 feet 11 inches and I weigh 185 pounds. This costume made it hard to move around and especially sit down without ripping a hole in the back. And i wouldn't recommend it for doing shows if you are a drummer... trust me.

I wore this to a Halloween Party. It did the job, but for the price, I was expecting more. I have a real flight suit that I paid $30 for that I paintball in. I would've worn that, but I didn't have any patches. The picture on the website makes it look like there are actual patches at least glued to the suit. In reality, they are all flat cut out iron-ons. I was disappointed only because of the price. The suit actually worked great for the night. It just was WAY cheaper quality than I was expecting.

The costume was cute, but it just did not fit. I read that other people had problems, and i wish my boyfriend had not got it because we actually had to cut the crotch and sew a patch on because it was just not big enough. I wouldn't waste my time or money with this costume because if it does not fit, you are out of luck!

The M/L fit great, and I'm 5'7" @ 150lbs.. It would've been good up to about 5'9" and up to 50 lbs heavier. Definitely big around the waist if you want it to be.

Costume was good, but if you are truly an XL, it may not be the best fit for you since the size L and XL are combined. was a little short in the torso, so had to wear it several days in advance to stretch it out in time for the party. by then it was wrinkled and needed to be ironed. overall good costume, but could have fit better for the XL man. patches started to fall off by the end of the night too. but great otherwise, won a costume contest with it!

I had jeans on underneath it and it was a little tight in the back and forced a slight wedgie if you have to lean forward for anything (I'm close to 6 feet tall). None of the pockets except one on the leg are real so I ended up cutting a hole where my jean pocket was so I had easier access to my phone.

Here's a no [*] assessment of the Top Gun costume: For starters, they are correct. I'm 5'11" and 185 pounds and the torso (crotch-area) just BARELY fits. Any taller and your junk will be on display.... Other than this flaw I think it's a great costume for the money. It's lightweight (reminds me of scrubs) and has lots of velcro at the ankles, wrists, and underarms for adjustmet. I ordered the aviator glasses from here and bought a cheap pair of black boots at [...] to complete the costume. Again, for the money it's a great costume (FOR THOSE UNDER 6 FEET TALL!)

It's a great costume but it lacks pockets, which is not conveinent if I'm at a Halloween Party at a club or a bar, and it is very tight around the croch. I'm 6 ft 1 and its really tight around that area.

The material this suit is made of is paper-thin. The patches are not secured to the suit very well and come off easily.

This costume is great! It wasn't as thick as we thought it would be, but it actually worked out better that way because he didn't get too hot (which would have been miserable). The patches are iron-ons which we thought might be sewn on...but OH WELL. The sew on patches are quite expensive by themselves! Over all great costume...especially when you pair it with some Aviator sunglasses and some black boots!

My husband and his friend are 6ft tall thin men and the costumes where way to small and we ordered the XL. The costumes needed to be much longer in the torso for both of them.
