He-Man and the Masters of the Universe burst into the consciousness of kids everywhere in 1982 with the release of the first wave of characters including the titular hero and the scourge of Eternia, the skull faced but muscled bodied Skeletor. The dark fantasy styled artwork captured our attention in the toy aisle, and the mini-comics told the backstory of characters such as Battlecat, Ram-Man, Mer-Man, and Trap Jaw. The release of the Filmation cartoon He-Man and the Masters of the Universe skyrocketed the popularity and turned the toys into a billion dollar phenomenon. Despite the contradictory storylines when compared to the mini-comics, most casual fans think of the series as the true canon of He-Man. We love both the Filmation and the mini-comics and aim to provide awesome He-Man shirts for both fandoms.
